Oil and gas valves move through upstream wellpads, gas processing trains, pipeline isolation stations, terminal loading skids, and refinery utility systems. Each location places different demands on actuator size, response time, and fail-safe behaviour.
Duties span open/close isolation, modulating choke control, ESD shutdown chains, and partial-stroke testing of critical safety valves. Plants expect repeatable position feedback, scheduled rotation, and clear diagnostics over their preferred fieldbus.
Outdoor and offshore installations require enclosures rated for sustained wash-down, dust, and salt-laden air. Many hazardous zones add explosion-proof or intrinsically safe wiring requirements, and ambient swings from arctic to desert duty must be confirmed on the actuator side.
