Flow medium
Water
Flow control guidance for potable water, wastewater, cooling water, and seawater valves needing enclosure and corrosion review.
Service context
Water valve automation
Water service spans potable water mains, wastewater collection and treatment, industrial cooling water loops, fire protection, and seawater intake. Each duty has its own pressure, temperature, and water chemistry profile that influences valve and actuator selection.
Outdoor installations require enclosures rated for sustained rain, splash, and occasional submergence. Saltwater service adds corrosion resistance on housings, fasteners, and stem couplings; freeze protection applies in cold climates, and cathodic protection on buried valves may require electrical isolation between actuator and pipework.
FFC EFX-D supports multi-turn rising-stem duties on gate valves, while EFX-Q drives butterfly and ball valves common to distribution and cooling water. Specific IP rating, material spec, and communication interface depend on the valve and service — share the site conditions and FFC will return the matching configuration.
Selection caution
Check enclosure rating and anti-corrosion requirements for outdoor or marine installations.
